<< Previous: Beijing building boom October 18, 2005Clever uses for Flickr #1: Business card archiveThe excellent Lifehacker (my new new favourite - apologies, Hanzi Smatter) pointed me towards this innovative method of indexing your business cards using Flickr. This could be really useful, especially here in Japan where meishi (名刺) are proffered upon you at the slightest opportunity. Now if only there was some way to have each card appear automatically on Flickr, complete with accurate meta data, no matter how drunk you were when you were given it. That would be something worth seeing. Posted by chris at October 18, 2005 06:48 PM | Permalink CommentsJust pasing through, cool blog by the way. Posted by: HumanityCritic at October 20, 2005 09:46 AM Hi Chris., great site and ganbatte! Posted by: Taro Akasaka at October 20, 2005 01:41 PM Hi HumanityCritic and Taro - thanks for stopping by, and for the kind words. Posted by: chris at October 20, 2005 03:58 PM It was great to meet you, Chris, at the bloggers meet-up! For the November meet, do give us a link on the List to a map for Office Bar. Take your time--we have until mid-November. Thanks. Here's a business card I have on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/yawandmog/18549682/ It would look better scanned, perhaps. It's a great idea. How would you alphabetise it, though? Posted by: Daphne Haour at October 20, 2005 10:37 PM Hi Daphne - I haven't tried it myself yet, but I'm asuming you could put any supporting data you wanted into the comments field. Or tag them, whichever is easier to search... by? I'll let you know if I work it out. Posted by: chris at October 20, 2005 11:58 PM |
